No Sense of Direction
Well then! HI! How are you all?
Don't have that much time... so, I hope I can cram everything interesting in that
happened this week!
happened this week!
First off, I met this guy named Bro P! He has an old fashioned pump organ at his
house! The kind you would find at an old theater! He played for us about 15 minutes
and it was fantastic! The coolest part was that he learned all of this by ear and he was
never formally taught! WOW! Color me impressed! He is also a descendant of
Edward Partridge! The first Bishop of our church! Man, he is way cool.

On Tuesday we had exchanges. Sister Nix was here with Sister Lewis and I- and we had
a ton of fun. I managed to eat a foot long subway sandwich again. :) Omnomnom.
So, I am driving and it is not very fun, because most of the snow birds (People who
live in Florida for the winter) are from New York.... and they are all kinda up there,

so they cant see very well- Talk about defensive driving. Any who, we were up in
Ocklawaha and we pulled off to see this lady in our ward who we haven't met yet.
She wasn't there. All three of us climb back into the car and we punch in the next
address. The GPS said it was 50 seconds away. OK, we totally could walk there! I get
out of the car and go "The street we need to turn right on is up here" and pointed
up the street. Sister Nix, Lewis, and I start heading up the street. However, I, Sister Jarvis,
failed to notice that the street we were supposed to turn right on was right in front
of our car..... Smooth Jarvis, very smooth. We start going up the street and (despite my

directionally challenged booboo) we found 2 new investigators. Soon, we had to head
back to our car and this really tall, skinny human with a ton of dark hair is walking up
the street towards us. Sister Nix leans over and says, "Ok J- let us see what you're made
of! I dare you to find out his favorite color!"

.... Wut?....
So, this kid looks about my age and he is wearing this dark red sweater. It reminds me
of my favorite sweater. So, I ask him, "Hey! That's a nifty sweater! Is red your favorite
color?" He crosses the street and talks to us. His name is Ben and his favorite color is
purple... in case anyone was wondering.

We found a total of 4 investigators that day. I love mission miracles.
We also met Leo and Jim. Leo is a less active YSA from Brazil and he is super chill. He
is renting a room from this man named Jim who was literally blown up twice. He is
retired from the military! When we met Leo we also met Jim and his family. We are
now teaching Jim. I love finding through less actives!

Last week the Email servers went down for LDSmail and so if you sent me something
I might not have gotten it.
I might not have gotten it.
So, I had someone ask me a few questions and I think they are quite interesting.
What is the easiest and hardest part about your mission?
The answer: People. I love people. I love watching the change they go through as the
light of the gospel come into their life. Not all of them are baptized but all of them
change in some way. The hardest part is also the people, I am a bit of a closet hermit
and so I can only take so much nuttiness and people. It is kinda hard to find a balance
with that but hey! Its worked thus far!

Florida and the west are different... The west goes at a wayyy faster speed and Florida
is operating on a little slower system. Going slower is nice. But going fast is so fun, too.
