End of Another Transfer

Hello Fellow Mortals!
How has your week been? Mine has been filled with twists, giggles and plot holes.
For those who don't know, I happen to own a pretty fabulous fuzzy blanket. It's big and purple. For study time I happen to have a chair that spins- I am a very blessed soul! However, Sister Brisco likes to poke me in the knee and spin me around in my chair. It is very entertaining!
Two very wonderful and fabulous things that happened this week:  a Face2Face with Jeffery R Holland that I got to watch, and we went to the Temple! AH! The music in the Face2Face was awesome! What Elder Holland had to say was even more so! I loved listening to what he and 2 members of the General Auxiliaries had to say.  I wonder if I will ever be that wise when I reach their age. :) Going to the temple was amazing. I have just been experiencing an issue for a while where my thoughts and emotions just can't seem to settle and relax. Upon walking into the temple everything just seemed to fade away and for the first time in this last little while, I was able to feel peace, just pure peace. No more other concerns. That night I was able to sleep incredibly well. I didn't wake up at all!!! That's the first time in over a year!! I am so very thankful to serve in a mission where I get to go to the temple!
(Sisters J, Nielsen, and Rytting)
Today was also District P-Day, we went bowling and had lunch with our Elders! Although they are a little weird at times, I love them all! I am so incredibly grateful for worthy Priesthood holders! Sorry this is so short! We don't have a lot of time! Love you all! Till Next Week!

Good Afternoon!
This week has been a good one. :) We had a couple of waaaay cool experiences this past week. First one starts off with a woman named Kaye. Sister B and I were going through an area book and we saw her name. After reading her about her we decided to pay her a visit! Last week when we knocked on her door she immediately recognized us and invited us in to set up a return appointment. She had company coming, so we couldn't stay long. This week we had our first official lesson with her, and she is sooo cool! We brought Brother Geisler with us and he hit it off with her and her husband really well. :) Such a tender mercy to be able to work with Brother Geisler again, even for a short time.
We also got a referral from some Elders living a little ways away as well, for a lady named Kristine. She has been reading the Book of Mormon and she told them that she wanted to come to church. All we have to do is find her! How exciting is that?!
This was also the week of funny things. Maybe, I shall share a few:
-My hair is kinda getting long again and after it reaches a certain point it starts to bother me. I told Sister Brisco that I have too much hair and she just looked at me- and busted up laughing. She told me that I don't even know said struggle. (Sidenote: Sister B truly does had a MASSIVE amount of hair. Its Merida status)
- An English speaking mission is hard especially with my brain. Mostly because I will be saying something (most of the time to Sister B) and it will try to come out in Spanish. What the heck? Most of my Spanish has gone kaput. Where is all of this coming from???
- After we scooped ice c ream for the retirement community, called Steeple Chase, we paused to talk to one of the cooks there. He offered to take us clubbing if we were ever up in Cleveland. Sister Brisco and I about died.
-We went and taught English on Sunday, as well. I have gotten to know Gi from Burma pretty well. A really sweet lady.... At the end of this particular lesson she noticed my hands and she thought they were really soft. Her son Brian had to translate half the time. Turns out Gi reads palms- for fun. So on a whim, she decided to read mine. (I didn't have much of a say in the matter).  First thing she looked at was my love life (oh dear.....). She told me I would get married between ages 20-30, and after a few more seconds she changed her mind and said ages 30-35. That nearly sent Sister Brisco flat with laughter.  Then she said my future husband would be rather handsome, and work hard so I won't have to. She also included I would travel a lot and that I would be healthy. It was a really a sweet experience. Although we can't communicate well- I love that woman and her family dearly.
Love you all,
Sister Jarvis

Tomorrow are transfers! And I am going nowhere. Staying put. Sister Brisco is the one that is leaving. Man... 4 transfers totals up to about 6 months. Yikes! Hopefully I can be just as enthusiastic this transfer as I was last transfer. Phewwwww..... No nap times for me. Nope.  Sister Lassen is my new companion and I am really excited to get to work with her again. She was in Deland the same time I was, so that should be pretty good. We will either have a blast or we will be sick of each other :).

Once Upon a time this past week, Sister Jarvis was having a bit of an emotional time. Things just weren't going right, and it was slightly traumatizing. So during lunch, Sister J sat on her knees and just prayed.  After sitting there for about 15 minutes, which slowly extended into about 40 minutes, a thought finally formed in the back of this desperate little Sister Missionary's mind. “Be the change you want to see”. The Sister sat there for a moment, hands on her knees, leaning forward, and face still slightly blotchy. Then, she decided to act on that little thought. She scared her companion awake and they went out the door.  As a result, they found Kim, a very sweet and very battered soul.  God works in mysterious ways- and even though things get hard, sometimes that is what is necessary to play a part in his plan.

We also finally met Kristine, the referral from the Leeseburge Elders. When we pulled up Kristine was walking down the drive, curious about us and if we were lost. As soon as she recognized who we were she jumped up and down and said, "Oh my gosh! You're the church people!" Haha. She's so cute. Purple hair and all.

Also, Ray and Dottie are getting baptized today! Sister Rytting, Nielsen, and I taught them when we first got here. The ward boundaries changed, so the Sumpterville Elders got them. But, today they are getting baptized! They didn't know Bro and Sis Kilby were picking us up today for the baptism. They were really surprised and happy to see us. :) Love them both.

I needed a new sweatshirt.... Figured I would let my inner nerd out.

I love you all! Till next week!

Sister Jarvis
