Too Many Cats!
Howdy one and all!
Ok, first things first, those who were concerned about Tropical Storm
Collin- I'm alive. It was a total flop. President had us come in early and we got nothing- just a little wind. I was sorely disappointed. I wanted a good rain storm, but I ate lots of ice cream. So, that's good.
We also had ZTM and that was exciting as well. We gotta see everyone in our Zone, which is always delightful. Remember how we were doing a musical number last Sunday? Well, the Sebastian Sisters found out and wanted us to do it for ZTM. It went alright (considering we had only had the music for about 3 days), but our Sunday performance went a lot better. It was so powerful and quite lovely. Dan said he was pleasantly surprised how good we all sounded. Haha. I ,also, had to give a thought for ZTM which I totally winged because the Zone Leaders called and asked me about it the night before. That was exciting- and caused some slight anxiety.
Some of the more interesting events this week had to do with animals.
Our returning less active, Eric, has a cat. Her name is ButterBall and she has her own website. She is also really, really fat. She looks like she swallowed a bowling ball. So this cat, really, really likes me. Which... I don't understand. I am not a fan of cats. They make me itch and sneeze till my face feels like it is going to fall off. So,
during a lesson over at Eric's, this cat decided to park itself on my lap and try to lick me wherever skin was exposed. All while we are trying to be spiritual. I had to drug myself later with some hard core allergy meds.
We went out finding with a member named Alan- a YSA student with a whit I have never seen. He is stinking hilarious. We were driving down the street and we see a cat family crossing the street- a mama with three kittens. Looking across the way- there was another poor kitten stranded, because she couldn't deal with this massive puddle. So, Sister Lefebvre tells Alan to stop the car so she can go help this kitten. So, Alan parks in the middle of the road and Sister Lefebvre goes after the poor kitten. Meanwhile, we are still in the car with Alan and we see these cop cars speed around the corner- 3 regular, one under cover, and a big pale blue van. It took me a few moments to figure out what was going on (drug bust). We kept telling Sister Lefebvre to get back in the car, and she just continued wandering up the street- no hurry. Finally, she got into the car and Alan goes speeding away.
While driving away I saw about 2 K-9 units on the other street. Yikes. That's what happens when you go finding in the boonies.
On Friday morning, I was sitting at my desk and kinda doing my own thing, and Sister McIntosh is making breakfast, and she looks up and goes, "Hey, look! There's a frog on the sliding glass door." I turned around to look, and something just wasn't right with the picture. It took me about .5 seconds to realize that the frog was INSIDE THE APARTMENT! Ahhh! The frog jumped all over my desk and suitcases before we caught him.
Dan still hasn't smoked at all, and he recognizes that the Word of Wisdom is a commandment! YES! He also said that the church is true!!!
Jarret came to church again! On his own steam! Yay!
This Transfer, I have really focused my studies on the Atonement and on how it blesses everyone. Even if they aren't willing to accept the gospel. Christ did what he did so we wouldn't have to go through our pains alone. I love this gospel.
Love you all.
