We Often Go Walking

Hello and happy Fourth of July!
It's kinda weird to think that it is July again and that a massive
chunk of my family is out camping currently. Huh.

This week I went on exchanges with Sister O'Hara! (MTC companion) Ahhh! I cannot even
begin to tell you how excited I was for exchanges. It's so funny to see how much we've both changed over the past year - A lot. We met so many cool people on exchanges and had some really funny moments. It was quite wonderful.I, however, made a discovery on exchanges... I am lactose intolerant. I have been off milk products for a while, but while on exchanges I ate some cottage cheese. Not a pleasant experience. Yup.... This is a sad day. Too bad I'm willing to torture myself for ice cream.

On Wednesday, Sister Hill and I met a man named Michael and he is from Brazil. The same area where my Grandparents served their mission! It got me really excited! He is way cool and he told us that we could come back and teach him and his family. He has an adorable 4 year old daughter who speaks almost no English. Haha. So fun.

On Thursday we made a horrible discovery- we had no miles left on our car. Not to mention my bike was still disassembled from transfers- and I have no bike pump. So, we did what any logical missionary would do. We walked. All day. We gathered blisters and bug bites, but hey! We met someone from Morocco and were lectured by a Puerto Rican about religion. It was an adventure.

On Friday we met President and Sister Clark (new mission President). They are pretty fun. I like them. However, Elder Johnson (one of the APs) noticed that I looked a little off (aka, very worn out) and asked me what was up. I told him what had happened with miles and he was very surprised we didn't call him about miles. Haha.  We sisters are not pansies.

Also... I hit my year mark on Friday. It was really weird people kept mentioning it. One of the hermanas I came out with kept mentioning how we are almost done... Ummm.... No.  Although some of us might not wear name tags, it doesn't mean that we are released from being member missionaries. Ever.

We have two investigators getting baptized here in a bit, their names are Billy and Bastien. They are hilarious. Bastien is almost 19 and a little more reserved. Billy is almost 14 and does back flips. They are so excited! We had a really neat lesson with them about testimonies in an effort to get their Mom, Linon, to understand that her sons were ready to join the church. It was such a spiritual moment and Linon was smiling ear to ear. It was great!

Have a wonderful Week!
Love,
Sister Jarvis
