Tales From the MTC

Howdy Y'all!
Howdy Y'all!
Well.... since leaving July 1st I have cried a lot, drunk more Chocolate milk than I care to admit, and laughed so hard that water came out my companion's nose.
My first night here I was attacked by the shower, the head was missing out of the center and it sprayed out the back of the shower. So through TWO shower curtains! Fortunately my watch and jewelry didn't get wet. I had the thought to put them in my glasses case. Talk about a tender mercy.
One of the difficult things is actually teaching what we call a progressive investigator (or a PI) who is portrayed by our teacher. I swear, part of being an instructor here is being a good actor. I seem to be having trouble opening my mouth and being able to share the message. *sigh* I suppose I just need to get used to the idea. But onto the funny bits.
The Elders in our District are quite lovely. A lot of fun. Although some of the Elders here look to be a bout 14. I know they're 18... but still. The Elders in my district are quite the characters, they kinda remind me of having little brothers. To illustrate this example Elder Pederson and Sister O'Hara got into a discussion about football about Utah State and BYU. It is probably the closet I have seen to a heated conversation while here at the MTC. It was quite a lovely debate. Now we have a rule that we can't talk sports with either Sister O'Hara or Elder Pederson.
The Iron Man jokes are running Rampant as well. The sisters I share a room with like to ask me all sorts of scientifical or math related questions and address me as Jarvis in a British accent. This usually leads to massive amounts of giggling.
I have been seeing people every where that I know. I saw Elder Tyler Longmire, He left Monday morning. I saw Elder Tucker Huppe (he is Portuguese speaking and he got here the same time I did so he'll be here for a while.) and my favorite.... SISTER Kylie Paul! My neighbor from school! I think she either left this morning or tomorrow. It was awesome to see her. Talk about tackle hug. We also have two pairs of sisters who got delayed to leave by 5 days because the sisters got attacked by bats. Not really attacked. One sister woke up with two climbing on her and in her hair. So all four of them need rabies shots.
4th of July was fantastic, we could see the stadium of fire from the parking lot and that was a ton of fun. We also got to go to the temple grounds although the Temple itself is closed :( and i have no idea why.
Sister O'Hara is amazing, we've only been here for almost a week and she's got this missionary thing down. She's a few inches shorter than me, has amazing Elsa blonde hair, tan, and a million freckles. We got our travel info as well, we leave July 13th and we need to be at the airport at 4:30 AM. ICK!
Congrats to Mason and Kelsey on expecting a baby! I am praying for you two! Yes, mom, I am very tired. I feel like I am constantly running on fumes and it's driving me somewhat crazy. Thank goodness for the excessive amount of Mints and gum I brought. They help keep me awake. I will try to send the pictures later today. I hope the 4th was fantastic for you all and that no one got too badly sunburned(looking at you Dad, we don't need another candy cane episode).
Love,
Sister Jarvis
