Lots of Food and New Friends
Dear Everyone,
Let me first start off by apologizing because I have a massive stack of cards and letters on my desk I need to respond to, but they are going to have to wait until next Monday. Why? Because I'm getting transferred. Again! Yup. You read that right. One and done in Palm Bay. I'm really sad about it. I'm not ready to go! This last
transfer here was awesome and I shall never regret it. I was certainly able to witness some awesome miracles. Packing everything up was quite a pain, though..... I'm headed off to Lake Reams (which is by Disney I think) to be companions with a Sister Hill. A new Sister Missionary who just completed training. Whoo! I'm excited. Really sad to leave the coast- but excited. We get to go do temple service. :)
We have an investigator named S. He's a bit of an challenge. But he wants to learn and loves to talk. But, we were going to drop him because he just wasn't keeping commitments. We had also prayed about a baptismal date for him- and we got nothing for him. So, we went to his house and this lady answered his door. We never met her before. Her name is L. and it turned out she is Steven's mom. She is now our investigator as well. Oh, Steven is now also on date! Bwahaha.
There is a gentleman named D. He is 94 years old and he knows the Book of Mormon is true, but he refuses to be baptized because he thinks that being baptized twice is blasphemy. He is also the sweetest man ever. His wife passed away in 2014 and he still speaks of her with such love and affection. It was so sweet and so tender.
Weed pulling is hard on the coast. It was so much easier to pull weeds in Belleview. In Palm Bay the weeds are much more stubborn. We pulled weeds for a lady named Judy. She is so cute. She has M.S. So, we help her on with a few things every week- like scrubbing her tile. But, with these weeds- we all got blisters on our hands, even while wearing our gloves. They are all healed now, but pulling weeds at 102 degrees is no fun. I don't think I've ever been so sweaty in my life and I was biking last summer! Uhg. We all smelled pretty ripe.
On Friday, we were fed three dinners. Everyone wanted to stuff us- and I felt so gross. It took me a while to recover from that.
Oh! Sister Lefebvre got made an STL! Ah! Super excited for her. She'll be keeping all the sisters in line! For the most part.... Hehehe.

Happy Monday!
I hope everybody had a wonderful week!
My new area is pretty entertaining. We pretty much are the Disney family ward. Haha, it's great. We are the only set of missionaries in this ward so that keeps us pretty busy. It is slightly crazy, about a quarter of the people we talk to act like they only speak Spanish (well, I should have seen that one coming.... I did pray at one point for the opportunity to improve my Spanish), or they are from Haiti, so the speak French/creole, or they are Brazilians (who are probably some of the wealthier people here) and want to be really sociable all the time. I am wishing right about now that I spoke 4 different languages. Also, everyone lives in apartments which = stairs. Going up the stairs, down the stairs, all day, everyday. My legs are going to be pretty awesome by the time I'm done here.
In our Zone (or stake for those of you who don't speak missionary) we have the Orlando temple. It's a 15 minute drive from our apartment (Ah! I'm really excited about that.) -which means 2 things: one, temple service just about every Tuesday- We play in the flower beds, mulch, scrub fountains, and attack trees. We spend a decent chunk of time in the sun. Our tan lines are going to be pretty celestial. ;) two, lots of temple tours. Ah! We had a really cool investigator named C. We were able to do a temple tour with him as a pass off lesson for the YSA sisters. It was so fun. He loved it all and we got some really silly pictures out of it. Also, there was a recent convert couple who got sealed on Friday at about the same time we had the temple tour with C.
Our Ward is pretty young. It has lots of people with tiny kids- which is hard. I just want to play with them all. Also, slightly funny side note, we keep having meals cancel because the wives are all pregnant and they all have pretty bad morning sickness. Huh- I never thought that would be an issue. We had a really funny moment with one child who's mom was carrying him past. He was just staring at us with these big blue eyes. His mom noticed and said, "you do realize you're the only one allowed to make eyes at the sister missionaries, right?" That gave us
the giggles something fierce.
We have this sweet Sister who came out with us one day named Sister H and we stopped to look at this little lake that has this massive alligator that I have yet to see. While we were there we saw this snake sticking his head out of the water, quite a fair distance. Suddenly, Sister Hernandez gasped and pointed at a spot next to my ankle and said, "THERE IS ONE RIGHT NEXT TO YOU," I froze, and Sister Hill freaked out. Only to find out, two seconds later, that she was joking. I. Hate. Snakes. I would prefer to have a lizard that eats cockroaches instead. Sister Hernandez thought it was a hoot. I, however, might have suffered a small stroke.
We have a really sweet investigator named D. who I could be wonderful friends with. She was Pocahontas at Disney a while ago. Just thought I'd mention that.
Now, the scoop on Sister Hill. She is my new companion from Utah. That means that 8/11 companions have all been from Utah. Wow... Ok, Sister Hill is hilarious. She's not as goofy as I am, but she is great. It was getting late and we were syncing in the apartment laundry room when this HUGE COCKROACH came scurrying out of the corner, hiding from us under a table. Sister Hill proceeded to lecture the cockroach about its behavior and how his life has been spared because we didn't feel like getting roach goo all over our shoes.-and we left the bug spray in the car. Sister Hill told him that he better clean up his act and go live outside,
because his life had clearly been spared for a reason. She then decided she wanted a picture with the roach. Haha. I was rolling. The best part is we haven't seen him since.
Have a great week!
Love,
Sister Jarvis

This week! Ok- this week was fun. We got a TON of members come out with us. It was seriously quite tremendous. I love it when members come out with us! We get to know them better and it is so much fun! Ah!
